Welcome to
The Wildflower Retreat
vegan B&B

A comfortable bed awaits you

A good night's sleep is critical if you want to have a relaxing break

Beautiful surroundings

Set in the heart of the countryside, you're also minutes away from the bustling seaside town of Sidmouth

A great base for adventure

There are beautiful beaches and rolling hillsides in abundance, waiting to be explored

Reconnect with nature from a plant-based hideaway

If you’re looking for a restful space to explore the countryside and Devon coastline, look no further.

We let the Wildflower Retreat on a Room Only basis but we are very happy to provide a mouthwatering selection of vegan meals, if you wish.

The apartment is situated on a very quiet no through lane on the edge of the beautiful village of Tipton St John.

The River Otter carves a route through the centre of the village and is just a few minutes walk away. There are countless river, country and coastal walks to keep you occupied and inspired!

Walk along the Otter at dawn or dusk and you might spot the resident beavers or otters nestled in their hideaways. There’s a good likelihood that you’ll see the egrets, kingfishers, goosanders and sparrowhawks that reside along it, too. It’s a nature photographer’s paradise!

Stay with us and you’ll be surrounding yourself with all the delights Mother Nature can offer, including our own organic garden!

Your Hosts

The Wildflower Retreat is a self-contained annexe to Barnpark, where your hosts, Tracey and Simon West, live and work.

They are passionate environmentalists, they’re also the co-founders of international reforestation charity, Word Forest.

They’ve been plant-based since 2016 and they’ll be delighted to help you make the best of your stay.

Your Stay Will Help to Reforest Kenya

Your hosts will plant a fast-growing fruit, nut or food tree in Kenya via UK charity, Word Forest, for every single booking made.

Word Forest plants trees, builds schools, facilitates education and supports a raft of women’s empowerment initiatives.

See Word Forest’s documentary, #TreesAreTheKey narrated by Kate Winslet, to find out more about their work to mitigate the climate emergency.
